DESCRIPTION:  BUDGET MANAGER

Budget Office 

Weill Cornell Medical College, one of the nation’s top ranked clinical and medical research centers, has an opportunity currently available at our Upper East Side Manhattan facility. We seek a highly motivated individual who will, under direction, manage the development and administration of the annual operating budget and prepare various financial reports and analyses. The successful candidate will: manage the activities of support staff who perform budget assembly and financial analysis functions; coordinate staff assignments to meet priorities and objectives; oversee development of macro level annual operating budget; assemble statistics for budget policies and assumptions by coordinating the collection and analysis of information and recommendations from senior management, other departments and external organizations; monitor approved budget by producing monthly variance  reports and ad hoc reports; assists in compiling and preparing long range financial plans and special financial analyses including the impact of policy decisions on the institution; oversees preparation of micro level department budgets for presentation to the Dean, Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and senior management; reviews budget presentations compiled by staff; manages implementation of revenues and expense budgets; assists analysts with preparation of various cost recovery schedules; performs other job related duties as required.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required; Master's degree in Business Administration preferred; experience and knowledge with intermediate to advance spreadsheet applications; must have budgeting experience, in a University setting preferred; and excellent organization and communication skills.
