DESCRIPTION:  Director, Grants & Contracts Accounting

Weill Cornell Medical College, one of the nation’s top ranked clinical and medical research centers, has an opportunity available at our Upper East Side Manhattan facility.  

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail oriented individual, to direct the daily operations of the Research Accounting division of the Finance Office in compliance with all Weill Cornell Medical College policies and procedures as well as rules and regulations promulgated by granting entities. The successful candidate will: direct daily activities of staff members; oversee aspect of post award grant account creation, monitoring and reporting; responsible for management of federal funding, including letter of credit maintenance and fulfilling all reporting requirements; provide senior management with periodic status and trend reports; manages grant billing and collection activities; develop and monitor performance metrics; prepare monthly management reports to monitor resource utilization trends; and perform other job related duties as required. 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus 8 years direct experience required; must have experience managing teams in a large complex organization; Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Management preferred; previous experience in an academic medical center, or other heavily grant-funded environment a plus; previous experience with full life-cycle grant experience highly desired; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; and excellent organization and communication skills.
