Media Works is a $1.2B segment of NBCU that is responsible for the production and distribution of content, as well as all technological investment for NBCU. Its businesses span the East and West Coast and are global in nature.

The production components are comprised of live TV production (SNL, TODAY, Nightly News) as well as the sound stages on the Universal lot that produce TV series, features and commercials. Media Distribution is responsible for tailoring content to the consumer's specifications and making it available worldwide via broadcast, satellite, fiber, discs or tapes. Also core to MW?s responsibility is managing technological investments and advancing NBCU in the digital space, creating dotcoms for the channels and social networking sites around popular content.

Qualifications:

• This critical role within TOPS will report to the VP Finance and is responsible for capital planning, fixed assets accounting and assets related reporting and analysis.

• Key responsibilities include controllership and forecasting of TOPS Capital investment in addition to management of the daily activities associated with the Fixed Assets department, including but not limited to the management of the fixed assets policies, supervision of the capital and fixed asset transactions and management

• Provide support and coordination of the capital project life cycle process through the following core phases of: appropriation request creation, routing for approval, budget release, execution, project reconciliation, project closure, asset creation, asset tagging and asset retirement.

• Responsibilities also include ongoing asset maintenance

• Estimates/Plans: help in overseeing and analyzing Capital related financial submissions with an eye toward understanding P&L and cash variances, identifying risks and opportunities and summarizing performance in pitch presentations to senior management

• Manage P&L and balance sheet details related to depreciation and capital investment, coordinate consolidating adjustments and management view reporting

• Manage the P&L and balance sheet close pacing process, interacting with Media Works FP&A, NBCU FP&A and communicating regularly with both Media Works, NBCU divisions and NBCU FP&A

• Oversee preparation of P&L, CFOA and Balance Sheet submission materials for Media Works FP&A and NBCU corporate

• Review capital equipment requisitions and monitor capital projects

• Verify that all appropriate levels of approval have been achieved

• Review capital equipment invoices and purchase orders

• Maintain and update Capital Cost Records

• Process journal entries and manual charges against projects

• Prepare monthly fixed assets reports

• Reconcile asset posting exceptions

• Assist with scraping, transferring, and retiring assets as needed

• Assist with audits and other ad hoc projects as needed

• Resolve any questions or problems with other operations and controllership teams

• Assist with Development and/or Implementation of Fixed Assets policies and procedures

• Balancing capital spending reports in SAP, and providing information requested during quarterly and annual audits

• Validate PO and source of costs, verify costs are capitalized, monitor open work orders and prepare reports for Line of Businesses

• Manage TOPS risks and opportunities, communicating regularly with respective division FP&A teams & NBCU FP&A to highlight issues/concerns

• Prepare presentations for senior NBCU management, Media Works CEO/CFO, including GPB, SII, Op reviews, monthly closing packages, etc.

• Communicating commentary to Management for all actual and forecast reporting cycles
