As a QA Tester, you will support functional and automated testing across web, API, backend, and integrated insurance applications. Working within Agile delivery teams, you will help ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of insurance systems and business processes while collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders.
What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases and automated test scripts for web, API, and backend applications.
- Deliver functional, integration, regression, and release validation testing to ensure application quality and stability.
- Analyse test results, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliable automation test suites.
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test reports that support effective test execution and traceability.
- Perform SQL-based database validation and backend testing to verify data accuracy and application behaviour.
- Identify, log, track, retest, and verify defects using Jira or similar defect management tools.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Scrum teams to support successful delivery outcomes.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support release validation and production testing activities to ensure deployment readiness.
- Contribute to automation best practices and provide guidance to junior QA engineers where required.
- Validate integrations between insurance platforms and third-party systems.
Insurance Domain Responsibilities
- Validate end-to-end insurance workflows across Policy Administration, Claims Management, Underwriting, Billing and Payments, Renewals and Endorsements, and Customer and Agent Portals.
- Apply knowledge of insurance business rules, transaction processing, compliance requirements, and product processes when developing and executing test scenarios.
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure accurate validation of insurance products and business processes.

Experience
Required
- 3 to 8 years of QA or software testing experience.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience within the Insurance domain.
- Strong understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle.
- Experience testing one or more of the following:
- Policy Administration
- Claims Processing
- Underwriting
- Billing and Payments
- Renewals and Endorsements
- Experience in functional and automation testing.
- Experience with API and backend testing.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
Preferred
- Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar insurance solutions.
- Experience testing integrations between insurance applications and third-party platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale insurance transformation or modernisation programmes.
Technical Expertise
Required
- Working knowledge of SQL for database and data validation.
- Experience with Jira or similar defect management tools.
