As a Loan Servicing Escrow Associate in Agency and Institutional Capital Loan Servicing and Asset Management you will be responsible for protecting collateral value and lien priority through the administration of multifamily real estate taxes, insurance compliance operations, escrow accounts, exception management, and borrower servicing activities. The position supports tax servicing, insurance monitoring, escrow administration, compliance tracking, and operational process execution across a diverse multifamily portfolio while ensuring adherence to investor requirements, internal controls, and audit standards.
Job Responsibilities
Partner closely with third-party tax service vendors to ensure timely tax disbursements.
Serve as primary owner for all tax-related exceptions, including delinquent taxes, disputed assessments, missing tax bills, incorrect parcel information, tax liens, payment rejections, and vendor-reported alerts.
Investigate and resolve complex tax issues by coordinating with borrowers, taxing authorities, vendors, Asset Management, and internal servicing teams.
Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for all escrow analysis exceptions, research items, and borrower inquiries related to tax and insurance escrow accounts.
Perform manual escrow analyses when automated processes identify discrepancies, exceptions, shortages, surpluses, data integrity concerns, or complex servicing situations requiring additional review.
Research and resolve escrow analysis variances by coordinating with borrowers, servicing teams, tax and insurance vendors, Asset Managers, and other internal stakeholders.
Support ongoing insurance compliance reviews by collecting and organizing renewal documentation, confirming required items are received, and routing materials for review in accordance with established procedures.
Review and reconcile insurance vendor findings, track open exceptions, coordinate follow-up with borrowers, insurance agents, vendors, and internal stakeholders, and escalate unresolved or higher-risk items as appropriate.
Assist with the operational administration of insurance collections and invoicing, including monitoring document requests, maintaining status records, validating supporting documentation, and coordinating timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Multifamily Loan Servicing, Insurance compliance, Escrow Administration, and Tax servicing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Commitment to building relationships and delivering a best-in-class borrower experience
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Excel, with experience using multiple formulas
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Experience working with third-party tax & insurance service providers
Experience resolving tax, insurance, and escrow-related exceptions through research, analysis, and coordination with borrowers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Working knowledge of escrow analysis methodologies, shortage and surplus calculations, borrower payment adjustments, and escrow account reconciliation.
Knowledge of commercial real estate loan documents as they relate to tax, insurance, and escrow obligations, and borrower servicing requirements.
Experience utilizing commercial mortgage servicing platforms such as McCracken Strategy
