At Sedgman, we deliver some of the world’s most complex mineral processing projects, supporting clients across the global resources and critical minerals sectors. As Risk Analyst, you will support the structured identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of risks and opportunities across a major EPCM project.
Based across Belo Horizonte and the project site in Brazil, you will work with project leadership, project controls and multidisciplinary delivery teams to maintain effective risk processes, strengthen ownership of mitigation actions and connect risk insight with project decisions.
This is an opportunity to bring structure and visibility to project uncertainty, enabling the team to take action early and make confident, evidence-based decisions throughout execution.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate the project risk and opportunity management process.
- Facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops with project disciplines and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain the project risk and opportunity register.
- Support the assessment of probability, impact, controls, residual exposure and response priorities.
- Work with risk owners to define practical mitigation actions, responsibilities and target dates.
- Monitor action progress and escalate overdue or ineffective controls.
- Analyse risk trends, concentrations and changes in project exposure.
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards and insights for project leadership, governance forums and the client.
- Connect risk information with cost, schedule, change and contingency management processes.
- Support quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis where required.
- Maintain accurate records and evidence supporting risk decisions and governance requirements.
- Promote proactive risk awareness and constructive challenge across the project team.
What we’re looking for
You’re a structured and analytical risk professional who can engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You combine attention to detail with curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to translate uncertainty into clear actions.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, risk, commerce or a related discipline.
- Experience in project risk, project controls, assurance or a related analytical role.
- Exposure to mining, mineral processing, engineering, construction or complex capital projects.
- Understanding of qualitative risk assessment, risk registers, controls and mitigation planning.
- Ability to analyse and communicate risk trends, dependencies and potential project impacts.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills.
- High attention to detail and disciplined follow-through on actions.
- Experience with risk management systems, reporting tools and quantitative risk analysis is advantageous.
- Professional fluency in Portuguese and English is strongly preferred.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to help build a proactive risk culture on a major mineral processing project and ensure that uncertainty is visible, owned and actively managed.
If you’re looking for more in your next move, you’ll find it here: more opportunity to influence critical project decisions, more impact through early risk insight, more perspective through cross-functional collaboration, and more purpose supporting the resources and critical minerals projects helping shape the future.
