Ready to build multi-asset investment models that shape our House View?
Why HSBC
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
The Opportunity
HSBC Asset Management is hiring a Quantitative Analyst to join our Global Investment Strategy Team in the Global CIO’s Office in the United Kingdom. This is a very unique opportunity where you’ll support the HSBC AM House View by maintaining and enhancing quantitative models and systems used for top-down research and investment decision-making across the global investment platform. The work spans fixed income, global equities, currencies and alternatives using traditional valuation frameworks, higher-frequency models and alternative datasets. You’ll partner closely with strategists and investment teams and help communicate analytical findings and investment perspectives internally and externally. Success means robust data, dependable models and clear insights that strengthen expected return views across asset classes.
What you'll be doing
- Maintain and improve proprietary quantitative models and research systems that support the HSBC AM House View
- Deliver quantitative research across long-term capital market assumptions, macro-econometric models and high-frequency tactical market signals
- Source, validate, clean and interpret large cross-asset datasets to produce usable investment insights
- Incorporate third-party models and data and build AI workflows that connect tools, models and APIs
- Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and partner with the Global Investment Strategy team to inform top-down investment decisions
What we're looking for
- Demonstrate early-career quantitative research experience through a degree, academic projects, internships or industry experience applied to markets or macro questions.
- Apply programming skills in Python, R or equivalent to build analysis and research tooling
- Use Bloomberg and Refinitiv to support market and macro research
- Show experience working with datasets - including sourcing, cleaning and quality checks - and translating results into clear insights
- Explain technical outputs clearly to non-technical audiences through concise writing and well-structured presentations
- Use PowerPoint and Excel to communicate analysis and support research narratives
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver work to deadlines in a fast-moving research environment
Building the Quant Backbone
This role gives you a platform to develop cross-asset quantitative research skills within a high-profile global investment strategy team. You’ll build practical capability in modelling, data and communication while contributing to views that inform portfolios and client insights. If you’re keen to apply your quantitative toolkit to real investment decisions across markets and geographies we’d welcome your application.
